A Portrait for John Paul
I recently completed this portrait using oil paint on canvas paper. It’s the first of a series of small portraits and was completed in two/three sittings. Working at this smaller scale was a first and I had my reservations about managing the smaller details and areas working smaller but once I go going, I actually didn’t notice. It’s a reminder to me that sometimes the mind created preemptive problems that don’t exist. I’m just glad I committed to try it and see what happens.
As it my new normal, I made a point of recording my process. It’s now video-graphic masterpiece, but I thought it might be helpful for some of you to share it all the same. I promise, better quality videos moving forward. I have the set up right now.
