May You Always Have Flowers
Mother’s Day meant beautiful bunches of flowers in my conservatory, which in turn meant a wonderful still life opportunity. I’ve never been one for painting realistic flowers. The forms and shades usually come more instinctively and are more about colour and pattern than depicting what is found in nature.
Though I did take a fair amount of artistic license in the colour and layout of this bouquet, I wanted to capture and immortalise their real beauty and create an atmospheric piece which sits comfortably between a traditional still life and contemporary painting.
May You Always Have Flowers, oil painting on canvas board, A3 in size, is now available for purchase as part of my #ArtistSupportPledge.
If you would like to make it yours or commision a piece, please email me.
